This area is a surfer’s heaven, it contains world class waves, that go from A-frames beachbreaks, rivermouths, and of course one of the best left hand waves in Nicaragua.
The deluxe surf tours has been designed for surfers with a non surfer girl friend or wife, families, and of course surfers looking to stay in a upper level of comfort.
When booking a deluxe surf tour guest still have the chance to go one day to La Barra Surf Camp and spend one day there to taste the great surf in the central Nicaragua area.
For those looking to get the best of Central Nicaragua we recommend to try a split surf trip with 5 days staying at comunidad San Diego and 5 days at La Barra Surf Camp.
The Surf
Nicaragua Pacific coast line consists in three different swell seasons
APR-OCT: biggest swells
NOV-JAN: waist to chest high offshore perfection.
FEB-MAR: chest to head high + swells, always offshore.
Surfing Nicaragua – Nicaragua dry season starts in November, from mid-November on you can expect sunny days, warm temperatures all day, slightly cooler nights, warm water and offshore winds.
Rainy season goes from mid May to mid November. During the rainy season Nicaragua pacific coast line gets the biggest swells coming from the South Pacific. The days will still be mostly sunny and warm with an afternoon shower. Some passing storms might switch the wind around and bring more rain but these don't usually last more than a couple of days.
The Spots
Meat Grinders/ (a.k.a. Hemmies/ Hemorroids or Punta San Diego)
Left Point break. Fast and hollow perfection. Breaks over a flat rock shelf. Experts only
Spot 1. Excellent beach break, A-frames all day, there are several peaks to choose from.
Spot 2. Right reef point. Long, fast rights. Can get hollow.
Spot 3. A gentle sand bottom beach with long lefts and rights breaking off a river mouth. Perfect for long boarders and beginner surfers.

Sorrounding Comunidad San Diego there are other great waves accessible by 4x4 or by Boat, Deluxe Tours doesn't include boat trips but deppending on tides and swell we can arrange a Boat Trip for you.
