Now Booking For The 2008 Season!

Surfing:

Our March trip is the best time for Costa Rican surf! The offshore winds and the water temperature create the perfect surfing atmosphere. Costa Rica Surf SchoolOur local break provides solid surf for beginners to avid surfers. At the end of the bay, beginners can gear up for waves, while those wanting more juice (tubes) can find everything they want in the middle of the bay. We provide advanced surfers with a once a week, one hour away daytrip for serious tubes, if desired. But rest assure, all will be satisfied with our local break. Please view pictures to see further.

Surf Facts:

Air Temperature: 80˚-90˚
Water Temperature: 78˚-82˚
Offshore Winds: 5:30-10:30 AM, most of the time
Surf Size: Head high (average) up to 8’-10’
Rides up to 70-90 yards either way

TIP FROM BAJA BILL
If you can afford a longer stay on our Costa Rican Surf Adventure, please make every effort to. Staying 10-14 days will ensure all your Costa Rican expectations are met: whether they are scoring more waves by taking boat trips to Ollies and Witches Rock or other spots when firing. NOTE: $150.00 extra a day

Accommodations:

The house is a mere four minute walk from the main peak.Costa Rica Surfing Lessons The serene surroundings provide for a relaxing, quiet experience. The house accommodates large groups of up to eight. There are three private bedrooms with three beds in each room. A private bathroom is connected to each bedroom as well. Each room is equipped with air conditioning. The house also comes with a private pool.

The outside dinning area is where our authentic Costa Rican meals are eaten. Fresh fish, shrimp, chicken, fruits, and vegetables will be provided, as well as smoothies and snacks. And of course, Costa Rican coffee will be made available.

NOTE: Vegetarian meals are provided as long as you inform the office before booking your trip.

Amenities:

As if the Costa Rican surf wasn’t enough, we have numerous activities that will solidify your full Costa Rican experience. These include riverboat trips, kayaking up the river, ATV excursions, and horseback riding adventures (all require additional fees).

Upon request, massages and daytrips to other beaches are offered. If interested in nightlife, excitement can be found in a four minute walk to bars, etc. Direct TV is available at the home, and internet access is only a two minute walk from the site.

Photos of your Costa Rica experience can be captured by a professional surf photographer and burned to a CD for your convenience (addition fee).

Surf Instruction:

Costa Rica Surf School
We have two hour surf instruction for beginners. There are normally one to two students per instructor. Students learn at the end of the bay where waves are soft and gentle. Our surf instructors are well experience in surfing and ensure you will leave stoked that you learned how to surf in Costa Rica.

What to Bring:

Shorts (2), T-shirts (7), bathing suits (3), nice shirt (1 or 2), flip-flops, tennis shoes for nature walks and other activities, sunscreen, your medications, camera equipment, and large beach towel. Please bring no more than three boards per person.

NOTE: You will want to travel light.

Costa Rica Surfing LessonsA local doctor is located twelve minutes away, if needed. Also, you may want to purchase a phone card ($20) for calling home while you are here.

Typical Day

5:30 AM - Checkout surf, coffee prepared

5:45 AM -10:30 AM - Surf, for the early bird

NOTE: Best surf is from 5:45 AM to 10:30 AM

10:00-10:30 AM - Big breakfast

10:30 AM – 2:00 PM - Relax around the pool area, go to the beach, explore, or do other activities

2:00 PM - Lunch and lounge

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM - Surf or cocktail time

NOTE: Sunset is around 6:00-6:15 PM

6:45 PM -7:00 PM - Dinner

After Dinner - Relax and enjoy the Costa Rica night on the large covered patio area or enjoy the nightlife

NOTE:
Please book your trip early, as flight prices will increase as March approaches. Liberia is the best airport for pickup because it is only 2 hours away from the home base, while San Jose is 5½ hours away. Our pickup times in Liberia are early afternoon and early evening for clients from the West Coast. If you have to fly to San Jose, we will help get you to our home base.
